Daily Medicine

Have you ever been on some kind of medication that you had to take every day? Most of the time, the purpose of the medication that is prescribed to us is to keep us alive and keep us healthy. And when we don't have it, we really start to notice a difference - right?

Well, the same is true in our spiritual lives. Spiritually, we need "medication" everyday - and that medicine is God's word. It is something that we need to be taking part in everyday everyday! We're so blessed that we have the opportunity to read our bibles whenever we want to - and we need to take advantage of that blessing. We need to be like the ones spoke of in Acts 17:11 - "These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so."

The title of this blog is "Daily Nutrition for You and Me" - And it really is! Think about it - there's probably been days in your life where you haven't studied your bible or you haven't prayed much. Isn't it SO much easier to give into temptation on days like that? The fact is - we need God every single day of our life. If we don't have him in our life each and every day, we are going to stumble and fall. It's just like medicine that gets prescribed to you - you WANT to take it everyday because you know that it is helping you. Well, the Lord is helping us. He wants us to get to Heaven with Him one day and in order to do that we need to make Him the most important thing and make sure He is the main part of our life each and every day.

  1. Thanks for those great thoughts. So very true.
Each day should be thought of as a gift, and the first thing we usually do when we receive a
gift is tell the giver how much we appreciate not only the gift, but the fact that they thought about us and wanted to give us something.
When we wake up each morning and realize that we're alive and well, and that we had a restful sleep, and a peaceful night.......that's a good start for a prayer of thanks, and a good way to put God at the beginning of our day.
    Thanks Ryan,
