Our Shepherd

The Lord is our Shepherd and what does the Shepherd do for us?

- God is a Shepherd that gives us comfort. "He makes me to lie down in green pastures." A picture of comfort is painted in this passage. The Shepherd will comfort us in times of trouble and worry.

- God is the Shepherd that calms our soul. "He leads me beside still waters" - This is where we see a sense of calmness in a time of chaos. Peter reminds us in 1 Peter 5:7 to "cast all our care upon Him, because he cares for you."

- God is the Shepherd who restores our soul and our spirit. The world has a way of bringing us down to the ground. - Our Lord will pick us up and restore our spirit in those times.

But why does our God offer us calm and still waters and why does He restore our soul? - Because He wants us to live with Him forever. Because He's a true Shepherd who doesn't want to see any of His sheep go astray.

Let God be your Shepherd.
